Our copy of Graves 'Art Sales' is incomplete: A-G is completely reliable, H-V is substantially reliable but V-Z is missing.
Page 62 of the Illustrated London News 1864 July-December carries a report of this sale
Ralph N James is included because he (seemingly independently) says of JMW Turner 'In 1793 he exhibited at the Royal Academy a "View on the River Avon near S. Vincent's Rock, Bristol," in oil ...' Vol 3 page 136. This apparently (see p135) was taken direct from the catalogue and shows that in James' view the Anti-Room exhibits were oils.
