Armstrong 1902

1902 Armstrong (Agnews) is another widely cited publication. It was published the year following CF Bell's erroneous account but it is not possible to say whether, in the matter of the first exhibited oil, Armstrong was influenced by CF Bell.

Except for an indirect reference on page 29 Armstrong does not list 'The 1793 Hotwells Oil': but does include the picture associated with it (at the 9th July1864 sale of Nixon's pictures), 'Waggoners, Snowdon'

• Armstrong did not include 'The 1793 Hotwells Oil' in his complete list. The picture was lost.
