Sequencing Thornbury's Events 1791-1793
Thornbury was published in 1862. Many of his comments about this early period are copied from Miller's 1854 work. (see List). Thornbury's later editions merely repeated the 1862 information with some embellishments

Page 19 footnote suggests that this is Mr E Bell, engraver.
Page 75 line 5. Thornbury states 1795 but goes on (page 76 line 4) to say that Bell accompanied Turner on the six week tour of 1793. Both dates are wrong. The introduction to Bell must have taken place before the six weeks tour.
There are notes by Mr Edward Bell, the engraver, in the Anderdon Papers at the Royal Academy (not available for illustration here) contemporaneous with the 1793 exhibition; Also a letter said to be 1840 from online archive of California

The six weeks tour
Most of this was copied from Miller page 26
Miller indicates that there were two Kent tours in this period one in the summer of 1793 (Walker commission) and an earlier one (first oil commission) during which oils were given to him. However, Thornbury did not notice that there were two tours and puts both the 'first oil' information and the 'Walker' information into the 1793 tour and calls it the 'six weeks tour'.
