Miller and 'The Rising Squall'
Miller does not mention JMW Turner's 'The Rising Squall' at all. However, he refers to a watercolour-drawing by Girtin of 'Bristol Hot Well' exh RA 1800 No.405, page xxxv, line 6 and to Girtin's only exhibited oil 'Bolton Bridge' RA 1801, No. 20 (see details from Graves -Girtin p244, -Girtin p245). (We considered whether Girtin had painted our 'Squall at St Vincent's Rock, Bristol' from Turner's watercolour-drawing but found it very unlikely)
