REYNOLDS, F D
of Dublin

Executor's sale Christie's July 15, 1893 (bmp) htm

Francis Dominick Reynolds [estate registration] not an art dealer but a stockbroker. (references to him being a 'dealer' misinterpreted)

F D Reynolds appears to be a dealer from Dublin. He is the most likely 'Reynolds' buyer at Christie's sale of 9th July 1864 in The Art Journal 1864 page 267.

Sir William Richard Drake aquired The Country Waggon, Snowdon - Early Morning which Reynolds had purchased from the sale. It is possible that Drake bought the picture from Reynolds in Dublin.

Apart from the works in the executor's sale the only two definite works in Reynolds' collection were:

The Country Waggon, Snowdon - Early Morning and

The rising squall, hot wells, from St. Vincent's rock, Bristol

There is a very weak piece of evidence in the Dublin Exhibition of 1865: temp link temp link(2)
