WILLIAM LEIGHTON LEITCH

William Leighton Leitch (1804-1883)(artist) had posession of Turner's B1975.4.1764(Yale/Mellon) 'Old Gate Of Canterbury' at the time of his death. It was auctioned, 1884, March 17th, Christies. WLL was born in Glasgow. He moved to London in 1826, toured Europe, and then from 1837 he lived in St. John's Wood, London
