Beauchamp

Earl Beauchamp appears in Wilton's provenance of 'Porch of Great Malvern Abbey, Worcestershire' Exh 1794; the 'Porch' in the possession of Whitworth Are Gallery from 1904 (Worthington bequest) [Wilton No. 49]. This Beauchamp entry seems out of place - we merely state here that Wilton included it.

Earl Beauchamp's sale of pictures was 1876-07-17 asco 36735 (Christie), Sixth Baronet, Frederick Lygon (1830-1891). There is no scanned copy and it appears that (other than Christies) the only copy is at Victoria and Albert museum.

The peerage was created in 1815 in the county of Worcester

First baronet was William Lygon (1747-1816) (Viscount Elmley) (Lord Beauchamp of Powyke)

Second baronet was Lygon's eldest son, William Beauchamp Lygon (1782-1823)

Third, John Reginald Lygon (Pyndar) (1784-1853) (William's brother)

Fourth, Henry Beauchamp Lygon (1784-1863)
