This canvas was purchased as a completely unknown work. An identification was embarked upon only out of vague interest prior to using the canvas as a restoration project. When it was initially scanned it was assigned the title: 'A coastal seascape with fishermen and boats in a rough sea' and out of this the initial search criteria were developed.
