1879 Monkhouse

1879 Monkhouse: Published between the two Redgrave second editions. It is noted that this is a widely quoted book but that is outside the scope of this sudy. Monkhouse, clearly working from the Redgrave publications leaves the matter, as to whether the first exhibited oil is 1793 or 1797, unresolved. However, the text makes clear that the 1793 picture, if the first, was 'Rising Squall...' not 'View on the River Avon...':
