Christie Sale of 27th April 1864, Redford, CF Bell & Huskisson

The catalogue for this sale does not include 'The Rising Squall'. It does include the three Turner's mentioned in Redford and in Christie's e-mail as 'Huskisson'. However, both these sources take the catalogue information out of context. The context is: catalogue entries are for 'Property of a Gentleman'; catalogue entries do not specify oil or watercolour-drawing for this property; they are mixed. The small collection was the property of the artist Leonard Huskinson (who was also known as 'Huskisson'). Various other sources are unreliable as to information about the Huskinson/Huskissons but we have 'untangled' them by reference to birth and death registrations and there is no doubt that Leonard was the seller at the 27th April 1864 sale.

CF Bell's information is totally unreliable because he muddled the publication date order in Redgraves' sequence of publications.

This sale has no connection whatsoever with 'The Rising Squall'
