Joseph Hogarth's Codicil 1874

Thatcher, initial probably S but could be F or J is shown in West Drayton but no address - this was 15th August '74 (The transcript is all written by the same person and the initial J is found on 'J Hogarth' just above and 'January' just below - they are different but share pen direction. However, just above the codicil there is 'Signed' and 'Street' with almost identical 'S' to the Thatcher initial.)

At this time there is still no sign of 1 & 2 De Burgh Villas and it is clear that De Burgh Crescent has not yet been built.

1 Orchard Villas, New Building ? - If a new house was built just to the north of the original 1&2 Orchard Villas around this time the two buildings, new and the semi-detached existing house, may have been respectively, 1 Orchard Villas (detached), 2 Orchard Villas (north semi) and Paxton House (south semi)
2 Orchard Villas (previously known as 1 Orchard Villas) - Elve was in occupation
Paxton House (previously 2 Orchard Villas) - Hogarth in occupation

1878

2 Orchard Villas, (previously 1 Orchard Villas ?) Arthur Charles Elve (died here), widow, Elizabeth remained
Elve died in June 1878 and the house had been renumbered at this time. Construction of the new house must have been completed for the renumbering to have taken place so it has been shown as under construction in 1877 although it could have been earlier.

On the census list there is an empty house named 1 Orchard Villas (followed by 2 Orchard Villas then Paxton House). Paxton House was originally 2 Orchard Villas, what is now 2 Orchard Villas was previously 1 Orchard Villas. The empty house called 1 Orchard Villas here appears to be Glenelg.
On the census list is the first sighting of 1 & 2 De Burgh Villas. They are both occupied.
