Known - Hannah Stark Fussey (neé: Portas) (1893-1921)

Known - Fussey had the drawing before Patton

Known - Patton sold the drawing in 1925

Known - Fussey died in 1921 but her husband lived on, remarried and survived into old age

Known - Fussey married in 1918 her name prior to marriage was Portas.

Logic - she disposed of the drawing as Fussey therefore after 1918

Logic - The drawing did not pass to her husband therefore disposed of before 1921

Logic for the disposal:

• She sold it to finance something eg: her wedding
• She gave it to the church

Known - Fussey was 27 when she died.

Known - she was a farmer's wife living in the back of beyond in rural Lincolnshire

Logic for her aquisition

• She inherited it from her mother
• ...or from her grandfather
• It was given to her as a wedding gift
• It seems unlikely but she may have bought the drawing herself

Known - Fussey's mother, Hannah Maria Portas died in 1902 (when Hannah Stark was aged 8/9)

Logic - the drawing had been in the posession of Hannah Maria who bequeathed it to her daughter.

Known - Hannah Maria died young (around 40)

Logic - Hannah Maria Portas (nee Proctor) aquisition very likely from her father, Mr Proctor
this aquisition must be before 1902
alternatively Proctor may have bequeathed it directly to his granddaughter
